Langtang Valley Trekking

The Langtang Valley Trek is also popularly known as Valley of Glaciers Trek. Langtang is one of the closet places from the Kathmandu Valley where you can see the huge snow-capped Himalaya and gorgeous glaciers.

Highlights:

  • Enjoy fantastic aerial views
  • Experience and explore local life
  • Views of scenic local villages and the stunning mountain range

What to Expect?

The Langtang Valley is located only 19 miles from Kathmandu. Though the Langtang Valley Trek is very close to Kathmandu, the Langtang Region is as wild as any Tibetan highlands with very peaceful and rural scenery. The starting point of the trek will be Syabrubensi, from which we will follow the Langtang River to the east until we get to Kyangin Gompa (3,049) with anovernight stay at one of the hotels there.

Heading up a gentle slope, we pass along dramatic ridges through local villages inhabited by Tibetans, Tamangs and Sherpa people. We will come across lush forests of Rhododendron and Oak, before arriving at the Langtang Valley, where we find flapping prayer flags and yak herders. Langtang Lirung, Langshisa, Ganjala Peaks are the center of attention while we are in the Valley.
