Mohare Danda Trek
Overview
Mohare Danda Trek is a newer track exploring the foothills of Annapurna and is a great alternative to the more crowded Ghorepani-Poonhill trek. The Mohare Danda Trek utilized another trail that still begins at Pokhara and then proceeds to Banskharka, next to Nangi and then Mohare. Located by the world’s deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki Gorge, Mohare has an elevation of 3330m which means you will be rewarded with excellent panoramic vistas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges. Here you will encounter the culture and friendly people comprising the local Magar communities who benefit from your presence here.
In addition to the amazing mountain views you will also be exploring a mix of forests including oak, pine and rhododendron. And within these forests are an eclectic selection of animals such as spotted dear, barking deer, wild boar, antelope, sloth bear, langur and monkeys along with hundreds of bird species! In addition to the Magar’s there are also Gurung, Kami, Damai, Brahmin and more. They also provide local accommodations in the form of tea-houses, home-stays and sometimes community lodges. We can discuss arrangements with you if you have any special requests.
