Learn to cook delicious local food at the Nepal Cooking School

Enjoy an exciting rickshaw trip to the local markets of Kathmandu, where Nepalis gather their fresh ingredients daily.  After you buy your own ingredients and back at our centrally located cooking school you’ll produce your very own Nepali feast. Along the way, our chef will give you lots of information about food production and preparation in Nepal and a special insight into Nepali life. Classes are held twice a day at 9am and 1.30pm – 7 days a week and each class runs for 4 hours app.

The profit from our cooking school is used to fund social programs for our organisation, Journey Nepal, which has been operating since 2012. Our focus is on empowering women and girls and we have a special relationship with a village of 5,000 people, called Fulkharka in the remote area of Dhading. This area was particularly hard hit by the earthquakes of April 2015 and we’ve been working hard to rebuild the schools in the area. The cooking school has been set up to help us implement programs to improve the education of girls throughout Nepal who would otherwise miss out on an education.
